MEN'S STAYS AND CHEST BINDERS FOR MANLY MEN
- "You're right, it was good news when I
received the corset. Have been breaking it in and it
feels very good. It has adjusted to fit very comfortably.
Good back support and noticeably improved posture when
I'm wearing it. Thanks for this design it is much better
than the one with the low back. If and when I get
accustomed to wearing this I probably will be in the
market for a slightly modified version, maybe one for
tighter lacing and more waist reduction?? Again, thanks
for a good product." Eric (9/11/08)
Styles below are based on a modern-day approach to
classic styles worn by military men as well as dandies,
designed to improve the posture, provide back support,
and in comfort to ensure a youthful figure beneath male
business or evening wear.
Please note that there is no "one" technical definition
of stays for the manly-man,
though you may hear this term, "man's corset" bandied about on the web
or in private conversations. What normally attracts our
men clients are more practical fabrics, stiffer or wider
boning for more vigorous support, a lower waistline to
create a superman shape (think Arnold), and a straighter
top and bottom horizontal perimeter. All other aspects of ROMANTASY's
high quality,
tight-lacing man's stays construction,
as for a woman's corsets, remains the same.
We start with a uniquely-shaped under-chest garment
shorter in front
to allow full
breathability, yet provide a moderate reminder to eat
well and in
the recommended limited portions, quite a suitable garment for
serious waist training.
We also now offer starting spring, 2008, a savings of $50
for your choice of a
single layer unlined stay, or you may certainly
opt for our recommended standard lined (bonding and double layer)
corset which substantially increases the strength of the
stay, and which is particularly suitable for men with
a waistline measuring 40" and more.
We follow with our clever steel-
boned, lined "CorVest,"
appearing like any vest apparently in high fashion,
yet for the more experimental
man or youthful wearer, laced up the back with a zipper
disguised under the vest part. The chest-binding vest has become
quite popular with our FTM clients as well.
In addition we
are pleased to introduce the unique steel-boned and lined
"Chest Buster" man sports
binder (bra) to flatten and support the chest and upper
back.
We will be adding new designs
and makers producing the challenging straight-rib stays
resulting in a V-shaped masculine torso. Think "Superman"
and you've got our functional, handsome, and
creative styles shown here!
PRODUCTION TIME: You may typically expect approximate
delivery in about two months.
MEASUREMENTS: Please understand that we rely on
your accuracy and measurements to construct your stays
and therefore cannot be responsible if you mis-measure.
However, if we note anything terribly amiss, we will
contact you for clarification. Some amendments possibly
can be made to a completed stays but understandably these
will be at your cost. To ensure
the best possible fit if you are preparing measurements
you may wish to consult the body graphic contained on
this page. Start by wearing underwear or a
bathing suit. Tie a string around your waistline. Locate
that at your natural waistline, or where you desire your
waist to be when wearing your stays (for standard figures,
that's typically 1" below the belly button.
For fuller figures, look in the mirror and select the
proper waistline you desire). It is always better to have
someone else take your measurements
three times, then report the average. Be sure you measure snugly
at the waistline, and somewhat looser around the rib cage
with arms down (do not let tape drop in back;
hold at chest level; the rib cage is around your lower
chest swell), and pelvis. Be sure that you also measure
from centerfront of your body to the stays bottom,
sufficiently low to cover the lower belly while both
standing and sitting. Note that if your centerfront
waist to top measurement exceeds 1 3/4" higher than your
sidefront waist to chest swell, this constitutes
a "sharp point" style and will incur the noted upcharge.
Typically for men that center front waist to top measurement will
be identical to the side front waist to top, or only .5" taller
than the side front one.
