- "The reason I am writing is to thank you
for the part you played in creating a positive experience
for me as a contestant at the TGSF Cotillion. As you
know, the whole crossdressing phenomenon has a
lot of mystery involved. Why do we do what we do?
Who knows! I can tell you that whatever the reason, one
of my dreams has been to own a beautiful sexy beaded
evening gown and to look fabulous in it. I realized that
dream at the Cotillion during the evening wear competition. The corset you sold me not
only helped me get into my gown, it gave me a beautiful
hourglass silhouette! Thank you so much for that
experience. Fondest regards." Jennifer Anderson (Miss
Congeniality 2005; Ms. Transgender San Francisco 2006;

- "I just saw your segment on the Discovery TV
program "Sex Change" and was so impressed with your work.
(Ann and client Michelle at the filming, seen left and below).
I am a trained psychologist and personal stylist and have had
my own color/coaching business for over 15 years.
I found your work playful, compassionate and so hands-on
helpful at such a transformational time in a person's
life." Barbara Carroll (Petaluma, 5/3/09)
- (From a genetic female corset client)"My Salon A
far exceeded my wildest dreams; I expected to
be ugly (but was not). For 'first timers' you have the
subject mix just right." Alison (6/10/09)
- "I just saw you on the program called "SeXchange"
on the Discovery Channel, speaking about
transgender issues. It was wonderful. I was like,
'I've been in that living room, and she is every bit as
personable as she appears on the screen.' How fortunate
we all are to be your clients, Ann. I really mean that."

"This year into early retirement, with my
TG feelings getting stronger all the time, I finally
decided that it was time to do things properly and
liberate Rita. I had been dealing with ROMANTASY
(exquisite corsetry :-) in San Francisco, and as well
as clothing they do gender image salons, so I took the
plunge and spent a wonderful evening with an expert
makeup person seeing what could be done with me. I told
them I would settle for the "frumpy dowager" look, but
I think they did a little better than that. I bought a
wig, in a fantastic shade, which I like to call sunny
auburn, and was completely overwhelmed by the image that
finally appeared before me. It was an intense experience
to find that Rita really did exist physically, and that
she had an image which I would never have imagined, and
which was very satisfying to me at least. What was most
satisfactory about my evening with the empathetic and
helpful people at ROMANTASY was that I came home with
some fairly detailed notes and instructions that will
help me to work on recreating what they did for me."

INTRODUCTION: Our wonderful transgendered
friend and corset model Jennifer, above, and other
clients quoted on this page, provide perfect examples
of the wonder and rewards of the adventure into gender
roles and reversals, of which we at ROMANTASY are proud
to be a part! Our life is especially blessed and made
more pleasurable by the opportunity our clients give us
to serve and learn from them.
SPIRITUALITY AND TRANSFORMATION: Perhaps the most
rewarding aspect of all our gender image services is to
experience and share the wonder of our client's
adventuring soul as she pursues a dream they may have
long held but suppressed. There does seem to be an aspect of the
spirit that is tapped during part of each interaction, a
moment when pure joy comes to the surface and we are
all of us, just a group of friends sharing love and
encouragement and moving very close, in a safe
environment, to who we really are, accepting ourselves,
accepting the other. We like to think we make it all
right to be who you are, and for us to be who we are.
Sort of a mutual admiration and exploration society.
Please call us if you'd like to find out more.

with you to co-create from the

YOUR CONSULTANTS AND PRESENTERS:
ROMANTASY owner Ann Grogan teaches the
subjects of figure contouring, fashion update and color,
and feminine movement.
She will select the proper
additional consultant from our staff to provide the
section on makeup and color analysis.
Ann had counseled many thousands of her corset and
transgender clients
regarding body image, figure-control, and liberating the
sensual and feminine spirit since opening her lingerie
and custom corset business in 1990. She is well-known
and respected in the gender community as someone who is
beyond non-judgmental; she is fair-minded, joyful, and
encouraging of all to adventure more in life to find its
many rewards. She lectures at many national transgender
and other conferences (Mensa; Lifestyles, BayCon) on
issues of permanent waist-trimming with corsetry, style,
fashion, and "how to get read" as MTF, based on past
years of research on this matter. From grammar school
until her early 20s she trained as a ballerina and
modern dancer in the Martha Graham technique (eight years
of dance classes) and also trained at the San Francisco
Patricia Stevens Modeling School on fashion and runway
modeling. At the end of high school, she was chosen to be
in the top ten from over 50 candidates for Miss
California State Fair, representing her title as
Miss Contra Costa County.

Along with makeup consultant, Monica Grace Molton,
left, above, and below, Ann was featured on
Discovery TV conducting a Salon and shopping at
Nordstrom's in downtown San Francisco with Sarah Michelle,
seen above with Monica during makeup. Sarah was just
beginning her journey into femininity as a MTF
transsexual. You may see how she blossomed in a lovely 2008
photo at the right. Her prominent segment was included
in the respected two-part series, "SeXchange."
Monica Grace brings 22 years of experience in her field
starting in Hollywood. She's styled Ricky Martin, Fergie
(Dutchess of York), Chayanne,Ellen Thatcher, and our
local San Francisco mayor, Gavin Newsom, among others.
She's also worked at several major San Francisco hair
and makeover salons.
She has participated in numerous
Gender Image Salons since 1995. She is a California
licensed cosmetologist.
Monica's expertise revolves around both hair and
makeup services, with special focus on creating
illusions through sophisticated and subtle contouring
techniques. Her skill level and results are extraordinary.
ROMANTASY frequently books Monica to provide
professional makeup and hair styling for our corset
models such as our web person and model Lydia, seen right. Advanced clients as well as novices
would particularly appreciate Monica's knowledgeable
approach, sophistication, and her fun-loving nature.
We are very pleased to announce as of 2008 the addition
of Kristine Bur'get, owner and manager of
her own Hair Salon in the popular SOMA (South of Market)
area of San Francisco. You can see Kristine left, and

AND A CONCLUDING WORD OFFERED BY ONE OF OUR CLIENTS:
"I am a crossdresser and I agree with Ann 100% about
wearing corsets! When I started wearing them
(it didn't happen overnight) in time, I went from a
29-inch waist to a 25-1/2-inch waist--permanently, and
achieved a stunning figure. There is another thing:
corsets have done wonders for the shape of my legs. But
corsets aside, a lot of crossdressers tend not to
pay attention to the fact that beauty comes from within!
If you feel like a beautiful woman on the inside, that
will come shining through and be projected to the outside!"
To which we say: "A-Woman!"
