CARTRIDGE-PLEATED BALLGOWN SKIRT
Sheri, our team's most experienced and wonderfully
talented costumer and corsetmaker produces this
beautiful, supremely full 6, 7, or even 8-yard
ballgown skirt seen here in pink satin.
Wearing this stunning skirt can make anyone feel
like a fairy princess, reported by our model Chablis,
in a stunning image taken
by Jeanette Vonier/Elegant Images Photography (2000);
overbust Victorian corset by
Sheri cartridge pleats the skirt (many tiny, even
1/2" pleats in the fabric to obtain maximum
fullness and grandeur). A wide grograin ribbon waistband
is grommeted with ties for adjustability. You will
certainly want to wear a hoop or full netting petticoat
underneath to show the skirt's spectacular fullness.
Regarding type of fabric available, if produced in
changeable taffeta (the navy and black skirts seen below)
, the skirt rustles as you dance or
walk. Changeable taffeta appears to be one color if
viewed in one direction and another color if viewed in
another direction. Lighter-weight polysatin (such as
the pink skirt shown right and magenta and forest
green skirts shown below,
worn below with
Victorian corsets by Sue Nice)
or crinkle satin. are other excellent fabric
choices, allowing for the skirt to "float" as you walk.
If you desire an exact match with
a shade or hue you have in mind, please tell us so below
and mail a color swatch to: 2912 Diamond St., Ste. 239, San
Francisco, CA 94131.
Regarding length, we suggest you
measure while standing in your stocking feet. You need a
few inches of distance above the floor and wearing shoes
or heels will provide the appropriate distance. Typical
production time is 6-8 weeks depending on the season, or sooner with rush fee.
Please inquire. (Skirt, 6 yards, modeled below in
polysatin. Skirt, 8 yards,
right by Chablis, in pink polysatin.)
Our price does not include fabric but you may inquire about the
additional cost by email, or choose to provide your own.
