HOW LONG DO CORSETS TAKE TO MAKE?
Corsets take -- as long as they take!
We are not trying to be facetious, but please understand
our point: High quality, personally-made, custom corsets
not jobbed out to labor shops, and a preexisting queue
of orders placed before yours, plus the exigencies of
life for our individual corsetieres, all require some
time. That is why we stress that patience will be ultimately
be well rewarded!
Patience is a personal trait that is not in much evidence
in today's high-tech, low-touch world of cell phones and
"instant" messaging. Custom corsets are definitely not
of that world, but of another world: high-touch, low tech.
Remember that belts similar to corsets were known
to the Minoan civilization for sports events, and
Victorian times in the 1800s saw the heyday of the
corset -- certainly times in the past. If you choose to
explore the world of corsetry, then you should certainly
appreciate the virtues of yesteryear.
That said, we strive to meet the general production
standard of about two months for our corsets, skirts,
and costumes. However, sometimes that might extend to
four or six months, or in the extrememly rare event,
up to a year. Since we do not job out our
corset work, and since some of our team members work
only part-time, we ask our clients' understanding that
quality does require a bit of time and patience. In addition,
we do our best to alert you in advance or as soon as
possible, if your corsetiere
encounters a need for time off, such as for a personal
or family health emergency, or vacation. We ask only
that you wait the expected time before contacting us
for an update on progress, which we are always happy to
Of course, rush fees are always possible, typically requested
when orders are placed if a specific delivery date is
desired, such as for a wedding or important social event.
If you ask for rush delivery once your order has been
placed in the order queue,
then there may or will be a Change Order fee of $50 plus
the rush fee added to your balance when we are ready
