LACING CORD AND RIBBON

We offer three types of lacing cord or ribbon: (1) traditional shoelace-like cord in black or white, and (2) 5/8"-wide polyester ribbon made either in Switzerland or the US (also suitable for covering garter tips, seen below on the purple silk corset garters straps).

STRENGTH: We've been asked which is stronger or more durable. From our personal tests and those of our many thousands of clients, we can answer that shoelace-like cord is perhaps the strongest. However, unless you are a serious "tight-lacer" and wear your corsets many hours each day, most likely any of the options we offer are suitable for your corset. We've also been asked if the Swiss ribbon is worth the slight upcharge, and our answer is unreservedly "yes"!
It is more substantial and has a finer or silkier "hand" or feeling, plus comes in a wide choice of truly luscious colors. Thus, you may want to decide your purchase based more on aesthetics of the lacing cord type rather than what we consider only marginally "better."

LENGTH: When you order lacing in one color (note two intertwined colors are shown right, thus you must place two orders, 1/2 of one color and 1/2 of the other color), the rule of thumb for slim figures, is to purchase at least one yard per three grommets (counted down one side of your corset in back). If you are full-figure, purchase at least 1.5 yds. per three grommets; you might even order two more yards to be on the safe side. In addition, if your corset is new and you are new to the mechanics of self-lacing (see our self-lacing device the "Lacissant"), you may wish to order two more yards.

MINIMUMS AND SPECIAL ORDERS: Please note that our minimum quantity is six yards and minimum price is $7.50 plus shipping. Order additional yardage from the menu below. Note also that while we stock in numerous colors of fine Swiss satin ribbon and US-made ribbon, if we have to make a special order for your desired color, there will be a $10 upcharge of which we will notify you by email for your authorization before we order.

COLORS: Regarding colors for shoelace-like cord, we offer black or white. Regarding satin ribbon, please note the following. The color samples below are only for Swiss-made ribbon (note we no longer carry black ribbon), however many of the same colors are available in US-made ribbon; please ask if we keep the color you desire in stock, or will need to place a special order. Also note that the hue and saturation of any given color may differ, and that computer renditions of color are not always perfectly 'true.' "Navy" blue that we provide may not match the "navy" blue that you envision, and it well may not provide an exact match to your "navy" corset.
