This unique lacing style, also known as "camp" or "cluster" lacing, is
unfamiliar to most. You can read in detail about this
historical style on this
Fan lacing can take up to three
or more hours
simply to lay out then secure this method of lacing. The
wearer pulls the straps from the front which automatically
closes down in back.
One should not order this corset merely for the reason of
ease in lacing. That is because this is not a corset suitable
for tight-lacing or for creating a noteworthy waistline
reduction or hourglass shape. The fan-lacing method does
not permit precise body curvature in the silhouette. It
is however, a favored style that fascinates viewers, and
is more suitable for an "edgy" or fetish look.
Note our former corsetier, Mr. Michael Garrod, in his
workshop in Wokingham, England, producing a fan-laced
corset, showing the complexity of the endeavor.
