EIGHTEENTH CENTURY WITH SQUARE TABS
****Style Advisory: Amazingly excellent value at low price in a period-perfect corset in three fabric layers. Great choice for 18th Century and earlier historical re-enactments such as Ren Faires. Perfect for bridal ensemble when adorned with embroidery, lace, pearls, or rhinestones.This corset is not suitable to create a natural bosom shape for foundation wear. It does not provide the proper underbust hourglass silhouette required for serious waist training.

This older style from the 18th Century and earlier is easily associated with the Hollywood movies "Shakespeare in Love," "Casanova," and "Dangerous Liasons" but is rarely if ever, seen produced with Jill's unique square tabs at the bodice's bottom edge. More traditionally the tabs are gently scalloped.
It can be stunning when worn for for special parties and weddings in a lovely Chinese silk brocade seen right. Lovely in cotton, linen, or our fine cotton-backed satin seen here: Classic Line Fabrics.
However, you may prefer a more imaginative and elegant "take" on the style, and order embellishments, such as lace applied peeking over the bodice's top edge binding, or just below it on the body of the corset. You may also order it embellished with rich pearl-and-gold braid trim placed over the diagonal boning as shown below (decorative pin not included; please email your design ideas for a price bid), but is quite demurely lovely when worn unadorned but in a silk fabric, or more traditional linen fabric.
Note that this style is only for outer fashion wear since the bodice artificially elevates the bosom and provides a straight-rib figure silhouette from a front view. In addition, our traditional pattern is high back with permanent shoulder straps as seen below.
We will deduct $30 from your order upon receipt in our offices if you choose the option of a single unlined corset, however, note that we recommend the fully double plus bonding especially for clients with 40" waistlines and over.
