LONGLINE EDWARDIAN (OVER AND UNDERBUST STYES)
****Style Advisory: Amazingly excellent value at low price offering not-often-seen artistic options, for a corset creating a gentle U- plus hourglass silhouette in a period-perfect corset in four fabric layers.The overbust push-up style may not create sufficient natural bosom contouring to be suitable for foundation wear and is never suitable for serious waist training requiring an underbust corset. Underbust and overbust styles are also not short enough for serious waist training.****

This traditional, long-line corset style is seen to the right in an overbust version constructed in pale blue linen, while the underbust style is modeled below in brown linen and in black cotton. Both the blue and brown corsets also include traditional Victorian embroidered flossing. The blue linen corset also has a 1/4" lace border under binding edge.
Note that this longline Edwardian differs from the standard Edwardian, by including a horizontal panel at the bottom edge. Below you will see a closeup image of that panel.
The corset is lovely when constructed in traditional linen, or in cotton or our fine cotton-backed satin seen here: Classic Line Fabrics.

This style works well underneath drop-waisted wedding gowns to ensure a long, continuous silhouette. Note that care must be given when selecting the overbust style to ensure the upper edge horizontal line of the corset will not show beneath the bodice of light-weight bridal gown or dress fabrics. If worn outside as fashion wear, the style may tend to visually shorten height, so may not be the best choice for those 5'4" and under.
We will deduct $30 from your order upon receipt of your order in our offices if you choose the option of a single unlined corset, however, note that we recommend the fully double fabric plus bonding especially for clients with 40" waistlines and over.
This corset (as with any overbust style ordered at ROMANTASY) includes an interim "muslin" fitting. The muslin is a "rough cut" sample corset made in a single layer of cotton muslin fabric with single (versus double) boning. It provides you an opportunity in person in San Francisco, or my mail to your location, to test and adjust the fit before final construction.
