Our doors have been open continuously since 1990, for 20 years in 2010! Thus, you may be assured that you are receiving very personal service and expert advice from an owner having first-hand, extensive experience with her product and services. ROMANTASY is unique -- because your individual needs and the happiness of your heart come first, in the following six ways:

  1. IN CHOICE -- We offer you real choice in both foundation (under clothing) and fashionwear corsetry. View the difference a foundation corset can make to one client's figure (Linda) and to a second client's figure (Jenny). We don't limit you to one corsetmaker at one skill level --we have five qualified corsetieres (more than any other corset business) and additional seamstresses, producing any conceivable corset style or corseted figure silhouette or fashion ensemble you desire, at a truly amazing range of reasonable price points starting at just $165 for a fully custom underbust corset style. (Did you know that a well-known brand of non-custom readymade French lace brassiere, sold in many fine department stores today, retails for $150 and up?).
  2. IN TOP AND TESTED QUALITY -- We focus on only the highest quality and artistry in tight-lacing corsetry (and costumes) by our team of corsetieres. We refuse to lower the top quality for which we have become well known, and refuse to dilute our custom corsetry specialty by selling those ubiquitous imported corsets of dubious quality, durability, and fit, or by offering anything other than a very few unique, artistic products (such as our unique pheromone perfume) to delight you.
  3. IN EXPERIENCE -- Before asking them to join our team, we carefully "vet" and field test the productions of each artistan, each having lengthy experience producing custom garments or complex and specialized corsets, most with at least five (one up to 15!) full-time years in their business.
  4. IN CLIENT EDUCATION -- We believe first in client education with full disclosure about how we do business, then if appropriate, we help the informed client to complete an appropriate purchase.
  5. IN WELCOMING A HUGELY DIVERSE CLIENTELE -- We welcome any serious enthusiast and student of elegant dressing--female or male, full figure or slim, fetish lifestyle or none--who is also devoted to health first.
  6. IN HONORING THE HUMAN SPIRIT -- Because we believe in encouraging the human spirit and a sense of adventuring in life, we provide compassionate Gender Image Presentation Services and products relevant to the MTF and FTM.

Sometimes despite our best efforts, an order comes in over the Internet and is misclassified as spam and lost. Or, sometimes your server is temporarily identified by ours as serving spam, and your email to us will get returned to you (simply resend it and most likely, it will go through). We appreciate your patience with a world full of imperfect technology--please rest assured that we want to hear from you! If we do not acknowledge your order or email in a few days, please re-send it or send us email. Now, hereinbelow is a summary of other important details about ordering from ROMANTASY.

ORDERING: Please place orders using your full legal name and valid street address (please send email to request an exception if you wish to use a post office box). If you are under age 18 please note: (1) we accept no orders below the age of 16; (2) state your age and the name and full contact information for the person who will be responsible for your purchase; (3) state the name and full contact information for your parent or parents whom we will contact to ensure that you have their explicit permission to place an order; (4) we make no corset with more than a 3-inch waist reduction for this client age group. We do not presently maintain a drop-by storefront; please email or call for an appointment when you are in San Francisco. Also please note that upon sending an order over the internet you are entering into a legally-binding agreement to purchase what you have ordered, and are legally bound to pay for the items and services for which you have sent an order. If you decide for whatever reason NOT to complete your order, please do not submit the order form, otherwise upon its receipt, we will bill you a $50 administrative fee even if you choose to cancel it immediately.
PRICES AND PAYMENT: Custom orders are typically billed at only a one-half deposit. You may let us know via email to bill the full amount, if you prefer. However, you will always receive automatic acknowledgement of the full price due and owing, and may prepare to pay the balance due within seven days notice that we are ready or about ready to ship your product.We accept Master Card, Visa, Discover, money orders and checks. Checks will take 14 - 20 days to clear after they are deposited. Money orders are cleared upon arrival (so they are much better choices if you need your order shipped quickly.) Sales tax is charged on applicable items and shipping/handling on orders from California, currently 9.5 percent. Prices quoted on our Cart or website are generally correct, but subject to change without notice. Custom orders requiring fabric shopping are subject to a 10% upcharge on entire order depending on market prices when we go shopping.
PROCESSING and SHIPMENT: We personally process orders at our San Francisco location and are not affiliated with PayPal. Thus there will be no instantaneous or automatic invoicing or deduction of funds from your account upon checkout. We fill and ship most non-custom orders (including e-books) within 5 to 10 business days, and most garment orders (such as corsets, Training Belts, skirts and other garments, as well as garments to be repaired or refurbished) within 1 to 2 months. Production/shipment time may vary with time of year which will lengthen during national holidays, local vacations, or emergencies of our team members, to within 10-20 business days or as much as 4-6 months for corset and garment orders. Accordingly, we appreciate your understanding and patience with our high-touch, non-automated, personal service process. Should you desire a firm date for delivery, please state this upon placing your order, otherwise there may or will be a Change Order fee (from $15 to $50 depending on product/service) to implement a firm fulfillment date placed after receipt of your original order. We ship only with signature confirmation and insurance; there can be no waiver of this policy inasmuch as carriers have been known to lose shipments, and other apartment dwellers have signed for shipments not addressed to them. ACKNOWLEDGMENT: Once we receive it, we will immediately email a brief acknowledgment of your order, and send an e-invoice or snailmail invoice either when we have (1) packed your order for imminent shipment, or (2) prepared your custom order for placement with our corsetmaker, seamstress, or artist. Note that our standard policy absent a sale or discount requiring full payment, is to take only one-half deposit on custom corset and garment orders even though some Shopping Cart order forms will quote the entire price. We ship most orders by USPO priority mail unless you request otherwise (additional charges may apply). We ship custom orders with insurance and requiring signature confirmation. Custom corset and garment orders include detailed wear and care instructions to ensure and enhance longevity in your quality garment.
CONFIDENTIALITY and SPECIFIC DELIVERY DATE: If you desire either, please tell us when you order. If you do not, our full business name (ROMANTASY Exquisite Corsetry) and address will appear on our label, and an approximate shipping date (less time in transit) as quoted upon order, on this Shopping Cart, or on our website will apply.
TERMS AND POLICIES REGARDING SALES and REFUNDS: Terms and Policies re: Final Custom Product, Garment and Corset orders are summarized here and accessible in full along with our Quality Standards for your review before you checkout. N.B. WE DO NOT REFUND DEPOSITS OR PURCHASE PRICES PLACED ON FINAL ORDERS. Terms and Policies re: Final Non-Custom or In-Stock Products and Services are here. FINAL vs. PRELIMINARY ORDERS: Regarding any product or service -- if you place a final order (regarding garments and corsets the style, fabric, and corsetmaker/seamstress must be selected; regarding other custom orders final design details must be selected) and we take a deposit/payment or open an administrative record, the terms and policies specified above apply. If you place a non-final order, or any order at all which you then decide to cancel, and we have not yet taken a deposit/payment or opened an administrative record, we will refund your purchase price or deposit less a $50 administrative fee. We do not refund shipping costs. Some products are available only online or as specified, and not at an in-person San Francisco consultation or at our many exhibits and public appearances.
